    Supermodel Schiffer shimmers as the new face for Accessorize AW06 Campaign

    Claudia SchifferAccessorize is delighted to announce international supermodel, Claudia Schiffer, as the new face of their 'Must Have' Autumn Winter 2006 campaign.

    Claudia Schiffer is the latest face to front a campaign for the global accessories retailer. The 5ft 11in German born supermodel, who has previously modelled for design houses such as Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel appears in an eight shot campaign to be rolled out across all Accessorize stores in September.

    Monsoon Accessorize founder, Peter Simon comments, "As a beautiful woman with International acclaim, Claudia Schiffer was a natural choice to be the face of Accessorize for our AW06 campaign. Claudia captures the essence of the Accessorize brand - vibrant, fun and energetic. She loved the Autumn Winter collection and expressed an interest in the achievements of the company's charity - The Monsoon Accessorize Trust".

    The campaign, shot by world-renowned photographer Jonathan Bookallil, bursts with energy and attitude. Schiffer shimmers as a disco diva, dressed head to toe in the 'Must Have' accessories for the season.

    Adorned in sequins and sparkle, Claudia proves that diamonds are a girls best friend. Jewellery focuses on diamante, glitter and all things metallic. Long chain necklaces and pendants in gold and silver are worn alongside diamante bracelets, holographic bangles and oversized cocktail rings. Chain mail bags, satin clutches and glittery belts finish this 70's inspired evening story.

    Adding a sense of sophistication for day, our uptown girl carries this seasons key animal and houndstooth print bags, worn with footless tights and platform shoes.

    To celebrate the launch of the AW06 campaign, the Accessorize team have collaborated with Claudia to design the beautiful 'Claudia Clutch' bag, which retails at £45, and will available at all Accessorize stores nationwide and online from 4th September.

    Interim results for six months to
    25 November 2006



    Highlights

    •Total sales up 17% per cent to £265.9 million (last year £228.1 million)
    •Like for like sales decreased by 6% (last year increased 4%)
    •Profit before tax down 5% to £24.2 million (last year £25.5 million)
    •Net funds increased £20.6m to £26.5m
    •402 stores in the UK & Eire (397 stores at end of May 2006)
    •400 stores trading in 39 countries outside the UK & Eire (358 stores at end
    of May 2006)
    •Like for like sales in the eight weeks to 20 January down 8% (last year
    up 5%)


    Commenting on the results Peter Simon, the Chairman, said: "It has been a
    difficult 6 months with like for like sales declining both in the UK and
    overseas. Sales growth has been driven by new stores but this has impacted
    costs. More normal levels of capital expenditure of £8.9m and improvements in
    working capital have returned the business to a positive net funds position.

    Our new distribution centre recently opened for Monsoon products. Accessorize
    products will begin to transfer in to it in the second half of the year. While
    we are confident that this strategic move is right for the business, we expect
    this to present challenges.

    We are in the process of recruiting suitable replacements for Rose Foster and
    Mark McMenemy who leave in the next few months. If there is a gap we will cover
    this with high calibre interim management. Our focus during this transitional
    period will be on maximising returns from our existing UK stores, while
    continuing to expand internationally.

    LFL sales since the half year end are 8% down, but on much lower stock levels. A
    smaller winter sale will help improve profit margins."
